SpleisPrivacy Policy

Spleis is a bedtime story generator designed for parents. Your stories and data are stored only on your device. We do not have accounts, we do not track you, and we do not sell any data.
1. Local Data Storage
All information — generated stories, user preferences (language, age range, story length), and optional child names — remains on your device via Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device except during story generation.
2. Story Generation via OpenAI
When generating a story, the app transmits selected hero, theme, setting, age range, story length, child's name (if provided), and language to OpenAI's API. We use the data retention opt-out, meaning your prompts and generated stories are not used to train OpenAI's models.
3. No Accounts
Spleis requires no sign-up, login, or email. We do not collect any personal account information.
4. Crash Reporting
We use Sentry to collect anonymous crash reports, including device model, iOS version, app version, and error logs. These reports do not include personal data or story content.
5. No Tracking or Analytics
We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or any usage tracking beyond anonymous crash reports.
6. No Advertising
Spleis contains zero ads and shares no data with advertisers.
7. Subscriptions & Payments
All billing is handled by the Apple App Store. We do not process or store any payment information.
8. Children's Privacy
Spleis is designed to be operated by parents or guardians. Optional child names are stored on the device only and sent to OpenAI solely for story personalization. Spleis is compliant with COPPA and GDPR.
9. Data Deletion
You are in full control of your data. Delete individual stories within the app or uninstall the app to remove all data. Nothing exists on our servers.
10. Third-Party Services
Spleis uses the following third-party services:
- OpenAI API — for story generation
- Sentry — for anonymous crash reporting
- Apple App Store — for subscriptions and billing

Changes to this privacy policy will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
