Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Spleis is a mobile application that generates personalized bedtime stories using OpenAI's API based on user-selected preferences such as hero, theme, setting, age range, and story length.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction to use Spleis. Children may use the app only under direct parental or guardian supervision.

3. Free Trial & Subscriptions

Spleis offers a 7-day free trial with full feature access. After the trial, the following subscription plans are available:

• Monthly: €4.99/month
• Yearly: €39.99/year

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Pricing changes apply to future billing cycles only.

4. AI-Generated Content

Stories are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain minor imperfections, inconsistencies, or unexpected phrasing. We recommend that parents review stories before sharing them with children. Due to the inherent nature of AI, no guarantee of perfection is provided.

5. Content Ownership

Permitted uses:

• Personal reading and listening
• Saving stories within the app
• Sharing with family and friends
• Printing for personal use

Prohibited uses:

• Commercial sale or licensing of generated stories
• Claiming authorship of AI-generated content
• Using stories for AI training datasets

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Bypass or attempt to bypass safety filters
• Generate harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Interfere with app functionality or server operations
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers

7. Availability & Interruptions

Spleis may experience temporary unavailability due to maintenance, server outages, or connectivity issues. We assume no liability for service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

Spleis is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Our total liability is limited to the amounts you have paid in the preceding 12 months.

9. Privacy

Your use of Spleis is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Third-Party Services

Spleis relies on OpenAI for story generation and the Apple App Store for billing. We are not responsible for the performance or availability of these third-party services.

11. Termination

You may stop using Spleis and uninstall the app at any time. We reserve the right to terminate access for users who violate these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of Spleis after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable EU laws and the laws of the developer's country.
